Like so many other animals on my trip to Borneo, I NEVER expected to see this little kitty: a leopard cat (Prionailurus bengalensis)! Cats are usually among the most elusive animals, yet we were lucky enough to see one even on the way to Deramakot. Then, in the reserve, we saw them ~8 times!
You have no idea how excited I was to see a yellow-throated marten (Martes flavigula)! This mesocarnivore was an unexpected (but very welcomed) surprise during my ecotourism adventure in Deramakot Forest Reserve!
This is one mammal I won’t see in my travels throughout Malaysia and that we won’t get on camera traps. It’s a critically endangered species and has been extinct in the wild within Malaysia since 2015…
I was SO EXCITED to see an Indian pangolin (also called thick-tailed pangolin) on our camera traps in India!
